New Zealand Pre-Wedding Photoshoot | Coromandel Peak, Queenstown Highway & Alpaca Farm
A New Zealand Love Story
Summer in New Zealand brings a distinct clarity to the landscape, creating a bright and open setting for Joey and Daryus’s pre-wedding journey. Known for their infectious, fun-loving energy, the couple spent their day moving between sweeping altitudes and quiet lakeside stretches. From the thrill of a helicopter landing on Coromandel Peak to unscripted moments shared with alpacas in a sun-drenched valley, their time in Queenstown felt less like a traditional photoshoot and more like a spontaneous, open-air adventure together.
Coromandel Peak
The day started with a sudden shift in altitude. A helicopter ride carried them away from the valley floor, setting them down on the golden, windswept grass of Coromandel Peak. At the summit, the air was crisp, and the summer sun cast sharp, clean lines across the mountain ridges. With the expansive lake sprawling far below, Joey and Daryus took their time navigating the uneven terrain. The contrast between her sweeping white gown and the rugged, dry tussock grounded the portraits in the natural texture of the environment. Despite the grand scale of the landscape, their focus remained easily on each other, sharing quiet conversations against the wind.
A shift in altitude, and the world below just falls away.
Queenstown Highway
Leaving the heights behind, they found themselves on a quiet stretch of the Queenstown Highway. With the road curving endlessly toward a backdrop of distant mountains, the setting invited a looser, more playful rhythm. Joey and Daryus took over the empty asphalt, turning a simple walk into an impromptu dance. The bright midday light caught the movement of Joey’s dress as she twirled, matched by Daryus’s easy laughter. There was no rush here—just the warmth of the sun on the pavement and the simple joy of having a vast, scenic route entirely to themselves.
Frankton Beach Boat Pier
The afternoon led them down to the water’s edge at Frankton Beach. Walking out onto the narrow wooden boat pier, the atmosphere shifted to something distinctly relaxed. The calm blue of the lake mirrored the clear summer sky, offering a serene backdrop for the couple's natural playfulness. Daryus gave Joey a piggyback ride, their laughter echoing across the quiet shore. It was in these unassuming, in-between moments that their genuine dynamic truly surfaced—unposed, energetic, and completely comfortable in each other's company as the water gently lapped against the wooden pilings below.
Alpaca Farm
To close out the day, they traded their formal wedding attire for casual, coordinated cream and white pieces, perfectly suited for an afternoon at a local farm. The couple’s fun-loving energy was on full display as they wandered through the grassy paddocks, feeding and interacting with a highly curious herd of alpacas. Sitting together in the sun-drenched field, they shared more piggyback rides and easy smiles. It was a lively, lighthearted conclusion to the itinerary, capturing the unpretentious warmth of their relationship against the rustic charm of the New Zealand countryside.
