Kryz Uy And Slater Pre Wedding Photoshoot At Roy's Peak, Alpaca Farm And Arrowtown
A New Zealand Love Story
It was our pleasure to shoot the pre-wedding of international influencer Kryz Uy and Slater at the all too beautiful New Zealand! This drop-dead gorgeous couple is the perfect model to complement the myriad of charms that New Zealand offers.
We started the shoot at Coromandel Peak, more commonly known as Roy's Peak, which was a must-visit for Kryz. Even the clouds made way for their arrival and we were greeted with an unobstructed view of the snow-capped mountains further in the horizon. Thereafter, we headed to Arrowtown for a classic shot with the wooden house and alluring forest surrounding it.
We ended off the day with a casual date snap at one of the local farms. It was already the end of Spring yet we were still blessed with beautiful cherry blossoms, which made it all the more beautiful. It was Kryz's first time meeting an alpaca and it quickly became her favourite animal as they ran around having fun and enjoying the photoshoot to the fullest!
Pre-Wedding Film
Beyond the photographs, this is what it truly felt like to be there. Watch the full film from Kryz Uy And Slater Pre Wedding Photoshoot At Roy's Peak, Alpaca Farm And Arrowtown’s New Zealand pre-wedding day.
Coromandel Peak
Coromandel Peak was one place Kryz especially wanted to include, and the journey there became part of the experience. Slater & Kryz arrived by helicopter and stepped out into a vast alpine landscape of tussock-covered slopes, deep blue water, and mountain ranges stretching across the horizon. The clouds stayed out of the way, leaving the snow-capped peaks in the distance clearly visible. Against that scale, there was little need to add much else. They walked along the ridge, stayed close above the lake, and took in the view together before returning to the helicopter. It was a striking start, but one that still felt wonderfully simple.
Some days begin on the road. This one began above the mountains.
Alpaca Farm
The farm brought the day firmly back down to earth—in the most enjoyable way. It was Kryz’s first time meeting an alpaca, and the animals quickly became a highlight of the shoot. Slater & Kryz changed into casual clothes and spent time among the open paddocks, getting close to the alpacas, laughing at their reactions, and eventually running around the field with them. A lamb even joined a few of the more formal portraits earlier in the stop. With cherry blossoms still appearing at the very end of spring, the setting had an unexpected softness to it. After the scale of Coromandel Peak, this chapter felt personal, playful, and completely unhurried.
Arrowtown
Arrowtown introduced a quieter, more classic side of the South Island. Slater & Kryz stopped beside a weathered wooden cottage surrounded by tall trees, trading the wide-open landscapes of the earlier locations for something more intimate and architectural. The aged timber walls, corrugated roof, and filtered sunlight gave the setting plenty of character without competing with them. Kryz’s fitted lace gown suited the rustic backdrop especially well, while Slater’s blue suit added a crisp contrast. They lingered around the doorway and along the exterior of the cottage, letting its simple lines frame the two of them. It was a slower interlude between the more expansive landscapes of the day.
Skippers Canyon
Skippers Canyon brought the landscape back to its rawest form. Golden slopes rose sharply around Slater & Kryz, with rocky ridges and distant mountains creating a much more rugged setting than the locations before it. In the late light, they moved carefully along the uneven terrain, stopping on rocky outcrops and between the folds of the hills. Kryz’s white gown caught the wind and light as she walked, adding movement against the dry, textured landscape. Rather than trying to soften the surroundings, this part of the shoot embraced their scale and roughness. With the sun sitting low over the ridges, the canyon felt expansive, quiet, and almost entirely removed from everything else.
Queenstown Gardens
Queenstown Gardens offered one last change of pace, replacing rocky mountains with tall trees and warm light filtering through the forest. Slater & Kryz walked beneath the canopy in their wedding attire, pausing against broad tree trunks and settling into quieter moments among the rows of trees. Sunlight came through in narrow beams, catching the edges of Kryz’s gown and giving the otherwise shaded setting a gentle warmth. Compared with the dramatic heights of Coromandel Peak or the rugged openness of Skippers Canyon, there was something reassuringly grounded about ending among the trees. The scenery was simpler here, allowing the final moments to rest almost entirely on the two of them.
From the mountaintop to the farm and back into the wild, New Zealand gave them plenty to explore—and even more to enjoy together.
