Lijiang, Yunnan Pre-Wedding Photoshoot | Spruce Meadow, Blue Moon Valley, Yulong Snow Mountain & Shuhe Ancient Town
A Yunnan Love Story
Ziyi and Ines’s Lijiang pre-wedding shoot moved through very different sides of Yunnan, beginning among the deep greens of Spruce Meadow before following the water through Blue Moon Valley. Around Yulong Snow Mountain, they traded formalwear for casual layers and spent time among open grasslands, alpacas, and sweeping mountain views. The day finally returned to something more traditional at Shuhe Ancient Town, where red lanterns, old lanes, and Chinese-inspired styling gave the story a completely different finish.
Spruce Meadow
Spruce Meadow opened the day beneath a dense canopy of trees, where mossy ground, winding trunks, and muted autumn greens gave the setting a quiet, almost enclosed feeling. Ziyi and Ines moved slowly through the forest in classic black-and-white wedding attire, keeping the mood simple and composed. As they stepped out onto the meadow, the scenery changed completely. Open grass replaced the darker woodland, with the mountain rising behind them through the mist. The shift made this first stop feel almost like two landscapes in one—starting intimate beneath the trees before gradually opening into something much larger.
The mountains revealed themselves slowly—first through the trees, then all at once.
Blue Moon Valley
Blue Moon Valley traded the deep greens of the forest for rushing water and clear blue tones. Ziyi and Ines stood beside broad cascades before moving down toward the lake, where the pace became noticeably quieter. Ines changed into a simpler, fluid white gown while Ziyi wore a light beige suit, softening the overall palette against the turquoise water and mist-covered hills. They held hands along the shoreline, stayed close beside the falls, and let the changing water become the thread connecting the different scenes. Even under an overcast sky, the color of the lake remained distinctive, giving this part of the day a cool, calm character of its own.
Yulong Snow Mountain
Around Yulong Snow Mountain, the formality of the earlier locations gave way to something much more relaxed. Ziyi and Ines changed into earthy casual layers and stepped into open grassland beneath a bright blue sky, with jagged mountain peaks always close in the background. Alpacas joined the experience, bringing an easy sense of humor to the shoot as the couple stood beside them, played around in the field, and leaned into the spontaneity of the setting. They also stopped along the mountain roads and around the quieter buildings nearby. After gowns and carefully layered landscapes, this chapter felt refreshingly uncomplicated—less about posing against the mountain and more about simply enjoying being there.
Shuhe Ancient Town
Shuhe Ancient Town brought the story back into the city, but with a completely different visual language. Ines wore an ornate red-and-ivory Chinese-inspired gown while Ziyi paired a black suit with gold detailing, their styling echoing the lanterns, dark timber, tiled roofs, and red doors around them. They moved through stone-paved lanes and quieter courtyards, pausing beneath rows of lanterns and beside traditional storefronts. After spending so much of the day surrounded by mountains and open landscapes, the tighter streets and architectural details felt especially rich. It was a fitting final contrast—ending not with another sweeping view, but with texture, color, and a strong sense of place.
From misty mountains to old stone lanes, Lijiang kept changing—and gave them a different way to experience every stop.
