Chasing raw, dramatic landscapes across the land of fire and ice, Yolanda & Shaun traveled to Iceland for an unforgettable pre-wedding celebration. Their itinerary moved seamlessly through contrasting visual chapters—starting before the basalt-inspired spire of Hallgrimskirkja in Reykjavik, standing in awe before the roaring cascades of Skogafoss, stepping onto the desolate black sands surrounding the historic DC Plane Wreck, and concluding amidst the volcanic basalt columns and lupine-covered hills of Vik.
Hallgrimskirkja Church
The day opened in the heart of Reykjavik before the towering, columned facade of Hallgrimskirkja Church. Yolanda wore a fitted mermaid gown paired with a plush white faux-fur stole wrapped across her shoulders, while Shaun stood sharply beside her in a dark black tuxedo accented with a vibrant red bow tie. Walking hand-in-hand along empty stone plazas and urban street corners framed by the dramatic church tower, their refined styling brought a warm, high-fashion elegance to the cool morning air.
Striking basalt-inspired architecture and soft fur layers paved an elegant, timeless start to their Nordic journey.
Skogafoss
Heading south along the Ring Road, the couple arrived at the majestic Skogafoss waterfall, where a massive curtain of water tumbled into the river below. Keeping her bridal gown and cozy white stole, Yolanda stood close to Shaun as water spray misted over the volcanic gravel shore. The immense scale of the roaring cascade behind them highlighted their quiet, grounded connection, capturing the raw, untouched power of Iceland's wild natural beauty.
DC Plane Wreck
Transitioning to the desolate black sand desert of Sólheimasandur, Yolanda made a show stopping statement by changing into a vibrant crimson red gown with an extended train, paired with sunglasses, while Shaun wore a dark suit. Walking beside the iconic rusted shell of the abandoned DC-3 aircraft, the striking contrast between her flowing red dress and the monochrome grey fuselage created a high-fashion, editorial scene filled with dramatic flair.
Black Sand Beach & Vik Church
For their final chapter, they explored Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach before heading up to the iconic red-roofed church overlooking Vik. Standing before towering geometric basalt columns, Yolanda draped her white fur stole over her crimson gown as ocean waves crashed nearby. Ascending the hill, she stepped back into her bridal gown with a sweeping veil that caught the coastal breeze, sharing quiet kisses surrounded by blooming purple lupines and the cliffside church skyline at sunset.
From city spires to roaring waterfalls and black sand horizons, their Icelandic story shone in every element.
