Furano, Hokkaido Pre-Wedding Photoshoot | Farm Chiyoda, Shikisai-no-oka & Ningle Terrace
A Hokkaido Love Story
Elaine & Hans’s Hokkaido pre-wedding shoot followed the countryside from bright afternoon into night. Farm Chiyoda brought hay bales, grazing sheep, a horseback ride, and wide rural views before the landscape turned vividly colorful at Shikisai-no-oka. As the sun dropped behind the flower fields, the pace softened with it. By Ningle Terrace, wedding attire had given way to casual clothes, and the day ended beneath warm lights among the wooden cabins and forest paths.
Farm Chiyoda
Farm Chiyoda gave Elaine & Hans plenty to do beyond simply taking in the view. Against open fields, blue skies, and oversized hay bales, they spent time among the sheep before moving on to horseback moments against the surrounding countryside. The animals brought an easy playfulness to the shoot, especially when the couple crouched down beside the flock and interacted with them up close. Between the wider pastoral scenes were smaller, more casual pauses—including a stop for ice cream together. With so much happening naturally around them, this first part of the day felt less posed and more like an afternoon spent exploring the farm.
The day began with open fields, curious sheep, and nowhere they needed to rush to.
Shikisai-no-oka
At Shikisai-no-oka, the countryside shifted into bands of red, orange, yellow, pink, and purple stretching across the hills. Elaine & Hans walked along the paths between the flowers as the light began to lower, letting the changing sky become part of the scene. Her white gown and his light suit kept the focus clean against the saturated landscape, while the later frames took on a softer quality as the sun dropped behind them. They held hands, wandered between the rows, and paused where the fields opened toward distant hills. After the activity of the farm, this part of the day felt slower—less about doing, and more about staying a little longer in the evening light.
Ningle Terrace
Ningle Terrace brought the day into a completely different setting. Elaine & Hans changed out of their wedding looks and into soft, neutral casual outfits before wandering through the wooden walkways after dark. Small cabins glowed between the trees, while strings of warm lights traced the paths and railings around them. Without the wide landscapes of the earlier stops, the story became more intimate here. They walked shoulder to shoulder, sat together beneath the trees, and lingered outside the lit shopfronts. After a day of farms, horses, and sweeping flower fields, ending somewhere smaller and warmer made the final chapter feel almost like a quiet date at the end of the trip.
By nightfall, the wide-open countryside had narrowed into warm lights, wooden paths, and just the two of them.
