Taiwan Pre-Wedding Photoshoot | Lin Family Mansion, Dadaocheng & Yangmingshan
A Taiwan Love Story
Three distinctly different sides of Taiwan shaped Ying Zheng & Marvin’s pre-wedding day. At Lin Family Mansion, deep blue traditional styling played against richly detailed heritage architecture. Dadaocheng brought them straight into the bustle of old Taipei, where they wandered the streets and stopped for a meal at a local eatery. By Yangmingshan, the city had fallen away entirely, leaving rolling green hills, an open horizon, and plenty of room for their playful side to take over.
Lin Family Mansion
The story opened on a decidedly traditional note at Lin Family Mansion. Ying Zheng & Marvin dressed in coordinated deep blue Chinese-inspired looks, a natural match for the carved doorways, painted corridors, tiled roofs, and ornate pavilion details around them. Rather than simply standing against the architecture, they moved through it—sitting side by side beneath an old window, walking along covered corridors, and stopping in pockets of sunlight between the shadows. There was room for personality too, especially when Marvin brought out a folding fan and sunglasses. Against such a historic setting, those small touches kept the mood from becoming too formal and made the opening feel distinctly theirs.
A little tradition, a little playfulness, and a day that never stayed in just one mood.
Dadaocheng
Ying Zheng & Marvin stepped into the neighborhood in wedding attire, but the experience itself felt much closer to an afternoon out in Taipei. They sat together in the middle of an old street, wandered past shopfronts and temples, and stopped at a local eatery where bowls, plates, stools, and neighboring diners became part of the scene. There was plenty of movement between those quieter moments too—running across the street, dancing outside the shops, and laughing without worrying too much about keeping things polished. Surrounded by signs, scooters, tiled sidewalks, and everyday street life, this part of the shoot felt lively, spontaneous, and wonderfully grounded in the city.
Yangmingshan
Ying Zheng & Marvin’s playful energy became the focus. They sat together on the grass, leaned into spontaneous close-ups, played with the veil, and broke into movement across the open landscape. The formal wedding styling created an easy contrast against the rugged greenery, while the fading light softened the scene as the shoot went on. After the rich architecture of Lin Family Mansion and the lively streets of Dadaocheng, having this much open space felt like a release—a fitting place to simply have fun and let the day wind down.
From old Taipei to the open hills, the best parts were the ones they simply had fun with.
