Bali Pre-Wedding Photoshoot | Pinggan Village, Lava Fields, Twin Cliff Valley & Beach
A Bali Love Story
Seeking an island journey rich in drama and serene beauty, Bernadette Kow & Nicholas Aw Yong traveled to Bali for an editorial pre-wedding celebration. Their itinerary flowed through four distinct landscapes—starting at dawn overlooking the misty valley of Pinggan Village, stepping across the volcanic basalt of Mt. Batur’s lava fields in a striking crimson gown, descending to the limestone corridors of Twin Cliff Valley, and closing on the sandy shores as sunset illuminated the tide.
Pinggan Village
The day opened at the high ridge of Pinggan Village, overlooking a wide valley filled with soft morning fog and early sunrise light. Bernadette Kow wore an elegant strapless white A-line gown with a gentle train, while Nicholas Aw Yong looked sharp in a dark navy suit and tie. Walking hand-in-hand along dusty dirt paths and grassy overlooks, they paused to take in the quiet vistas of Mt. Batur rising through the clouds. The cool morning breeze and warm golden hues set an intimate, unhurried tone for their adventure.
Soft valley mist and early morning ridge light set a serene, grounded rhythm for their day.
Lava Fields
Transitioning to the rugged lava fields at the base of Mt. Batur, Bernadette made a striking statement in a vibrant red strapless ballgown detailed with textured floral appliqués. Nicholas complemented her in a dark suit with a dark tie. Walking together across weathered black basalt rocks and golden grass clumps, the bold contrast between her fiery dress and the dark volcanic stone created a dramatic, editorial mood. Laughing and leaning close against the ancient mountain peak backdrop, every frame radiated confidence and deep romantic connection.
Twin Cliff Valley & Beach
Moving south toward the coast, the couple changed into relaxed, sun-filled looks—Bernadette in a breezy white off-the-shoulder dress and Nicholas in a teal suit jacket before swapping to a white linen shirt and beige trousers. Wandering through the towering limestone walls of Twin Cliff Valley, the carved stone corridor framed them in clean, dramatic angles. They shared quiet hugs under light sheer veils and gentle forehead kisses as sea breezes filtered between the high rock faces, bringing a fresh, relaxed quality to their portraits.
Beach
For their final location, they stepped onto the open sands of the beach as the sun dipped toward the horizon. Running barefoot through shallow tide pools and chasing incoming waves, their playful energy was completely unscripted. Nicholas picked Bernadette up into his arms and carried her across the shore as golden light washed over the water. As dusk turned into dark orange silhouettes against the ocean horizon, they held hands tightly, ending their Bali journey on a joyful, unforgettable high.
From misty mountain peaks to dramatic volcanic stone and golden tide pools, their love illuminated every shore.
