A Kyoto, Osaka & Nara Love Story
Traveling from Singapore, Li Ping & Jun Bin sought an autumn escape that felt grounded in tradition. For them, Kyoto during koyo season was the only choice, offering a landscape painted in fiery maples. Their pre-wedding journey began within the preserved streets of Higashiyama, before embracing the wider Arashiyama scenery. As dusk settled, we captured a modern, cinematic energy that contrasted beautifully with the day's historical elegance, creating a diverse portfolio of their shared adventure.
Traditional Streets, Higashiyama
We began the day embracing full tradition. Donning elegant kimonos—Li Ping in a vibrant, textured pattern and Jun Bin in a refined dark pairing—they strolled the stone-paved lanes of Higashiyama. The early light illuminated the brilliant crimson and orange maple leaves framing the wooden machiya architecture. This wasn't a shoot of posed moments, but of genuine connection. They paused at quieter corners, holding natural washi paper umbrellas and simply enjoying the atmosphere. The texture of the ancient wood, the soft rustle of the koyo, and their quiet laughter defined this morning in old Kyoto, setting a peaceful tone for the day.

Arashiyama Area & Hillside
Transitioning to Arashiyama, the couple chose western wear that offered movement and modern contrast. Li Ping's first look was a striking, flowing deep blue gown that caught the autumn breeze, paired with Jun Bin’s sharp blue suit. We explored the hillside, utilizing the wider landscape and panoramic river views, capturing moments of them looking out over the autumn-colored slopes. Later, a second outfit change introduced a classic white wedding gown with a clean black suit, bringing a formal elegance to the open, natural setting. The scale of the hills and the winding river created a dramatic backdrop for their shared joy.
Nighttime Railway Crossing
As night fully arrived, we sought a completely different energy. Swapping the scenic hills for urban atmosphere, the couple stood near a railway crossing just after dusk. Li Ping’s white gown provided a crisp point of light against the deep blue twilight sky and the cool, artificial glow of the streetlamps and signal lights. The mood was still and focused. As a train finally passed, its speed blurring into streaks of light, the scene felt instantly cinematic and modern. This final moment, quiet yet charged with movement, provided a contemporary, narrative contrast to their traditional daytime adventure.
