A Kyoto, Osaka & Nara Love Story
Drawn to the timeless romance of Japan during its most colorful season, Katherine & Sheu Ting traveled to Kyoto to capture their pre-wedding story. Surrounded by the fiery brilliance of autumn maples and historic temple districts, they sought a celebration that felt both deeply rooted in heritage and intimately their own. From the rustling silk of traditional kimonos beneath towering pagodas to the golden glow of rolling hilltops at dusk, their day unfolded as a quiet journey through changing landscapes and everlasting affection.
Historic Kyoto Streets & Pagoda
The morning air carried a crisp chill as Katherine & Sheu Ting stepped into the historic lanes of Kyoto, framed by ancient wooden machiya townhouses and towering temple pagodas. Katherine wore an intricately patterned kimono in rich autumn shades of terracotta and cream, complemented by delicate floral hairpins, while Sheu Ting wore a structured black haori and hakama. Vivid red maple leaves brushed against weathered eaves, casting soft shadows across the stone pathways. They walked side by side, sharing quiet smiles and adjusting the folds of their silk layers, pausing occasionally beneath a traditional paper umbrella as autumn petals drifted gently past on the breeze.
Beneath a canopy of scarlet leaves, time seemed to slow, leaving only the quiet rhythm of our footsteps and the warmth of the changing season.
Nara Grasslands & Rolling Hills
As afternoon gave way to evening, the couple transitioned into effortless modern elegance on the sweeping grassy hills of Nara. Katherine wore a minimalist, sleek white wedding gown with a flowing train that caught the late-day breeze, paired with a sheer veil, while Sheu Ting wore a sharp, tailored navy suit. Wild deer roamed freely across the sun-drenched meadows as the low autumn sun cast a radiant, amber glow across the horizon. They held hands and wandered along the ridge, looking out over the distant city skyline as the sky softened into pastel hues, closing their journey in a serene expanse of earth and light.
