Dalat Vietnam Pre-Wedding Photoshoot | Dambri Waterfall, Dalat Market, Hilltop Pagoda & Suoi Tia Lake
A Vietnam Love Story
US-based creator and dermatologist Madalyn Nguyen travels to Da Lat, Vietnam, with her fiancé Evan for a two-day destination pre-wedding experience that is as personal as it is beautiful. While many couples choose a destination for its scenery, Madalyn's decision runs much deeper.
With Vietnamese roots, she hopes to share a part of her heritage with Evan—from the culture and traditions to the everyday moments that have shaped her story. Together, they explore misty lakes, lively market streets, a hilltop pagoda, and hidden waterfalls, turning their pre-wedding journey into a celebration of love, identity, and discovering Vietnam through each other's eyes.
Suoi Tia Lake
Before sunrise, the day begins on the calm waters of Suoi Tia Lake. Wrapped in soft morning mist, Madalyn wears an effortless floral gown while Evan keeps things relaxed in a white shirt, beige vest, and tailored trousers. A wooden boat, delicately styled with florals, waits quietly by the shore, inviting them to slow down before the world awakens. As they drift across the lake, the silence feels just as memorable as the scenery. There are no crowds, no distractions—only gentle ripples across the water and the quiet excitement of beginning a journey together. It is the kind of morning that asks nothing of you except to be present.
Sometimes the most meaningful journeys are the ones that bring you closer to where you came from.
Dalat Market
From the peaceful lake, they step into the vibrant rhythm of Dalat Market. Madalyn changes into a playful beige dress finished with oversized ribbons, pairing it with a half-up hairstyle tied with a matching ribbon, while Evan embraces an easy linen look. Together they weave through colorful market stalls, sample local street food, and cross bustling streets where scooters flow effortlessly around them. A light drizzle soon begins to fall, giving the market a gentle glow beneath colorful signboards. Umbrellas come out, laughter follows, and the streets somehow become even more charming. Before leaving, they pause beside a classic red Vespa—an unmistakable symbol of Vietnam that adds another playful chapter to their adventure.
Hilltop Pagoda
The second morning begins with Madalyn and Evan setting off on scooters, already dressed in matching white Áo Dài as they make their way up Da Lat's winding hills. With the cool mountain breeze, sweeping views, and flowing silhouettes catching the wind, the ride itself becomes an unforgettable part of the journey. High above the city, they arrive at a peaceful hilltop pagoda, where Madalyn carries a bouquet of elegant calla lilies and a traditional headpiece completes her look. For her, this chapter is deeply personal—a quiet tribute to her Vietnamese heritage and an opportunity to share that part of her story with Evan. Surrounded by drifting clouds and the serenity of the temple grounds, they experience a side of Vietnam that is rich in culture, tradition, and quiet beauty.
Dambri Waterfall
Their final chapter brings them deep into Da Lat's lush landscape, where Dambri Waterfall creates a dramatic backdrop for the end of their journey. Madalyn wears a low-back mermaid gown adorned with delicate floral details and shimmering sequins, while her long veil catches every breeze, adding graceful movement against the rushing water. Mist rises through the trees as they wander along the waterfall's edge, surrounded by the sounds of nature. The landscape feels wild and cinematic, yet the moments they share remain wonderfully intimate. It is the perfect ending to two days that have been filled with discovery, connection, and unforgettable experiences.
Some journeys bring you to beautiful places. The most meaningful ones bring you closer to each other—and to the stories that shape who you are.
