Sally and Michaelsen’s pre-wedding shoot in Hong Kong felt like a day spent moving through the city together, letting each moment unfold naturally.
They started in Mong Kok, dressed in casual outfits, right in the middle of the city’s energy. Surrounded by neon signs, busy streets, and the constant flow of people, it felt lively and unfiltered — the kind of chaos that makes Hong Kong what it is. They wandered through the streets, just taking everything in at their own pace.
From there, they made their way to Central, where the tone shifted completely. Changing into a white gown and suit, they stepped onto the streets where trams passed slowly through the city. Between the colonial buildings and modern high-rises, everything felt a little more cinematic — still busy, but somehow calmer in their own world.
Not long after, they found a nearby cha chaan teng for a quick stop. What started as a simple break turned into one of the highlights of the day, as the shop owner warmly showed them how to make dumplings. It was spontaneous and unplanned, and that made it even more memorable — just a small everyday moment that felt very Hong Kong.
As the day went on, they made their way to Waterfall Bay. With the sound of waves against the rocks, Sally changed into a striking red gown that stood out beautifully against the soft tones of the sea. They slowed down here, spending time together as the sun set, away from the rush of the city.
They ended the shoot among Hong Kong’s colonial architecture, where old and new sit side by side. It was a simple, quiet ending after a full day — just the two of them walking through the city, still soaking it all in.
Looking back, it wasn’t just about the locations. It was the in-between moments — walking through busy streets, sharing dumplings, watching the sunset — that made the day feel real and personal.
