Luckily for Jie Kai, our photographers from Brown Sugar were willing to go to any length, or bush, to do just that. 😉😍 Regina and Jie Kai met when they were both co-facilitators for a freshman camp group in Singapore Management University. Jie Kai shares that there was supposed to be three facilitators per group, but “luckily for [him] the third guy didn’t show up :P” Finding the right location As the couple shares a love for travelling, Jie Kai had always wanted to propose overseas. While doing some research on the most scenic spots for a proposal, he found OneThreeOneFour’s site. He ultimately decided on Korea for the proposal destination as they would have been just in time for the cherry blossom season. Planning the surprise Jie Kai was set on surprising Regina with his proposal, so he decided to book Jacob and Gayun of Brown Sugar from OneThreeOneFour who are very experienced at surprise proposals.” Jie Kai wanted to propose with cherry blossoms as the backdrop and at a quiet and intimate place. However, this being his first trip to Korea, Jie Kai was completely unfamiliar with Seoul. But the OneThreeOneFour photographers came to his help and recommended a list of potential proposal spots, and the location that Jie Kai ultimately decided upon, Seonyudo Park, was “everything [he] could have possibly wanted!” The Proposal Upon arriving at Seonyudo Park, Jie Kai got down on his knees and started on his proposal speech before whipping out the ring. During Jie Kai’s proposal, Gayun and Jacob went all out to capture the moment: Jie Kai shares, “even in the midst of my proposal speech, I could hear them crashing through the bushes to get the perfect angle”.
