For Valent & Chuan, the plan was simple — make the most of Mount Fuji, and experience a mix of traditional and natural settings in one shoot.
We started at Iyashinosato, a traditional Japanese village near Fuji. This location was chosen for its preserved houses and open views of the mountain. They opted for a kimono shoot here, which worked well with the setting. With clear skies that day, Fuji was fully visible, giving us clean and strong backdrops without needing to rush between spots.
From there, we moved to Lake Kawaguchiko. This part of the shoot was more open and relaxed. The lake gave us wide scenic frames, while the clear weather helped keep the colours bright and consistent. We planned a few simple compositions here — walking shots, still portraits, and wider landscape views — to balance out the more structured village scenes earlier.
The final stop was a sakura park, which added a softer and more seasonal feel to the gallery. Compared to the earlier locations, this segment focused more on close interactions and lighter moments, using the cherry blossoms to frame the couple naturally.
Overall, this shoot came together because of two things — good planning and very good weather.
With Fuji clearly visible throughout the day, we were able to move smoothly across locations and capture a full range of looks — from traditional to scenic to seasonal — without overcomplicating the experience for them.
