A Paris Love Story
Yi You and Jolyn’s Paris pre-wedding shoot moved between the city’s familiar icons and the quieter corners that make a day here feel personal. There were Eiffel Tower views, long walks beneath historic arcades, time spent among the greenery of Tuileries Garden, and a slower finish through the streets of Montmartre. Rather than rushing from one landmark to the next, the day gave them space to simply enjoy Paris together and let each part of the city bring out a different side of their story.
Place du Trocadéro
Starting at Trocadéro gave Yi You and Jolyn that unmistakable first feeling of Paris. The Eiffel Tower stood across the river, but what stayed with them was not simply the view. It was the excitement of beginning the day somewhere they had imagined so many times before. Between the open terraces and quieter corners, there was room to take it all in without rushing. Even with one of the world’s most recognizable landmarks behind them, the moments that felt most memorable were often the simplest ones: standing close, sharing a laugh, and realizing they had an entire day in Paris ahead of them.
Bir-Hakeim Bridge
Bir-Hakeim brought a slightly moodier, more cinematic side of Paris into the story. Under the bridge, the city felt different: quieter in some moments, full of movement in others, with the Eiffel Tower appearing between the steel columns almost unexpectedly. By this point, Yi You and Jolyn had already settled into the day, and there was less thought about the camera and more attention on each other. They could wander, stop when something caught their eye, and let the city happen around them. It was a change of pace that made Paris feel less like a postcard and more like somewhere they were experiencing together.
Louvre Pyramid
At the Louvre, Paris offered yet another contrast. Centuries-old façades wrapped around the modern glass pyramid, and moving between the two gave this part of the day a sense of quiet grandeur. Yi You and Jolyn took their time here, slipping between sunlit courtyards and long arcades where the noise of the city seemed to soften. There was something grounding about being surrounded by so much history while creating something entirely their own. It became one of those moments where the setting felt impressive, but never bigger than the reason they were there in the first place: to remember this season of life together.
Somewhere between the gardens and the city streets, the day simply became theirs.
Tuileries Garden
Tuileries Garden felt like a natural place for the day to breathe. After the architecture and energy of central Paris, the tree-lined paths and open lawns brought everything back to a gentler pace. Yi You and Jolyn could simply walk without needing a destination, pause beneath the trees, or sit for a while and watch the afternoon pass around them. There was something especially fitting about this part of the shoot: a beautiful place, but one that did not ask for too much. It gave them room to be present with each other, which is often where the moments worth keeping happen most naturally.
Montmartre
Montmartre was a fitting final change of scenery. Away from the grand avenues, Paris became smaller and more intimate here, with cobblestone lanes, neighborhood cafés, pastel façades, and streets that invited them to keep wandering just to see what was around the next corner. After a day surrounded by famous landmarks, this quieter side of the city felt refreshing. Yi You and Jolyn could let the afternoon unfold without much of a plan, enjoying the simple pleasure of exploring somewhere together. It ended the shoot not with one dramatic final view, but with the feeling that there was still more of Paris left to discover.
Maybe that is the best part of traveling together: leaving with memories, and still having reasons to come back.
